We’re home and I’m going to daycare, today. Boy, do I need it. …even though I’m tired from the very lo o o o ng ride home. my Friends, my Friends! I’ve missed all my LAHRPC daycare friends!

Don’t LEAVE US. 2009/07/27

Mom is packing to return to Ohio. The stress level is very HIGH. (There are 8 pawpaws fearing they’ll be left behind, what with all the packing going on.) Perhaps a game of wookie will help lower our stress levels!

That and some homemade organic peanut butter and banana frozen yogurt. We’re sure that will make it better. …for a couple of minutes.

Thanks for taking such good care of us, Auntie Momma J. We will miss you! We love you!  ….

…’til we see you, again.

I can drive. Really. 2009/07/26

We went to Acadia National Park, again, today. This time we were going to Cadillac Mountain on Mt. Desert Island. We got lost. AGAIN. Ok, it’s 1. the highest MOUNTAIN on 2. an ISLAND. HOW can my HUMANS notfindthis?!! Will someone puh-leeeeeeease letmedrive??!! Plan B. Again. We drove (like it was planned. pppffft. It’s what we found while we were ‘not lost looking for Cadillac Mt.’) to Northeast Harbor.
The day was blanketed in thick fog and mist. And although, it wasn’t what you’d wish for, it was amazing. Magical, even. Driving, driving, driving and then….you would see water, boats, rocks, slowly reveal themselves from the mysterious fog. It was so cool. We’re going back sometime when it’s a clear day. Wonder if we’ll get lost? (ppfft) I can drive. REALLY.

We found this amazing cove tucked behind a huge wall of river rocks in the thick fog on a hairpin curve. Mom didn’t want to leave. Auntie J. said it’s quintessential Maine coast.

Mom said it was a little tricky taking photos, today. But, HEY (!), at least she wasn’t so grumpy after Auntie J. found her a new camera battery charger!

Southwest Harbor Mount Desert Island, Maine 2009/07/26

Yesterday, we drove to Southwest Harbor on Mt. Desert Island in Acadia National Park. It started out warm and sunny. We stopped in Somesville, Maine. Mom had always wanted stop and poke around, instead of just driving through, so we did! Then we tried to go to Seal Cove, but we got lost. AGAIN. Mom was there once before I was born. She wanted to go back because it’s so beautiful, but Auntie J. and she can’t seem to not get lost trying to get there. They keep making all the wrong turns and just circling back onto Rt. 102. …Besides, it’s an island! HELLo. How can you get lost on an island?! I told them I should’ve been driving. They didn’t listen.

We gave up and drove on to Bass Harbor and had a picnic of lobster rolls. By that time, this amazing foggy mist rolled in. It was awesome! It was cool and damp, but not cold. Mom loved it. I went nuts sniffing all the fishy, oceany smells. /\_/\ To see a set of black and white photos from our day, click here. After we left there, we drove to Bar Harbor. By that time, it was dark. There were people everywhere. Mom said it’s almost peak tourist season, so it was kind of crazy. We had to stay in the car while Auntie J and Mom walked around. We had fun people watching. Then we drove home. It was a rilly good day, even though Mom got rilly grumpy because her camera batteries went dead and her charger wasn’t working. eek.
