Don’t LEAVE US.

Mom is packing to return to Ohio. The stress level is very HIGH. (There are 8 pawpaws fearing they’ll be left behind, what with all the packing going on.) Perhaps a game of wookie will help lower our stress levels!

That and some homemade organic peanut butter and banana frozen yogurt. We’re sure that will make it better. …for a couple of minutes.

Thanks for taking such good care of us, Auntie Momma J. We will miss you! We love you!  ….

…’til we see you, again.

Maine Shedders

And not as in my blowing coat in Maine. all over Auntie J’s house. …well, maybe, I’m not sure. …ANYway, tonight, we’re having new shell Lobster (in Maineglish, that’s ‘lobstah‘) just snatched from their Maine traps.

A Lazy Thursday Afternoon

Auntie J. left work early so we could drive to Rockland, Maine. We drove down 1A along the winding coast of Maine. We stopped in Camden Hills State Park and went to the top of Mount Battie overlooking Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay. It’s the best view of Maine, second only to Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park.

It was so beautiful up there! There were a number of people and doggies walking about, but Mom said I was a very good girl. Being the GSD I am, I was quite concerned and very. ..watchful…but I didn’t utter as much as a boof, let alone a w o o f. To see a set of black and white photos of Mom and me from there, click here. We drove on to Rockland and sniffed around. On the way home, we stopped in Lincolnville Beach and had fresh scallops for dinner. Then it was just chillaxin’ in Pillow Palace II for the ride home.

We were supposed to go to Acadia, Mt. Desert Island and Bar Harbor, today, but it rained. …all day..and it’s still raining. Rain, rain, go away. …

My Maine Monday

We started off by taking me to my Daycare in Maine. Boy, did my brain need Daycare after 24 hrs on the road and 3 days without play and exercise; I had a bad case of the zoomies. On the car ride to Daycare, Mister wanted to ‘play wookie’. He’s a morning boy; I’m not a morning girl. I’d be happy to just sleep until we get there, but not him. hooonooooo. He’s wide awake and ready to play (and chomp and chew on my lips, paws, legs, whatever!) in Pillow Palace I (that’s Auntie J’s car).

So Mom dropped me off at daycare, then Mister and Earl went to Earl’s vet. He needed to get his vaccinations so he could come back and go to daycare with me. Mister just went along for the ride. Mister didn’t understand why Earl had to go to someone else for his shots. Mister said, ‘My Mom’s a Vet. If I need a shot, she just gives it to me. How come your Mom’s not a Vet?’ Sometimes, he just doesn’t ‘get it’. ANYway, as I was saying, they went to Dr. Hanks’ clinic. Mister and Mom waited in the car; Mister mostly basked in the sun.

After Earl was done at Dr. Hanks’, they came back and dropped Earl off at daycare. I went a little whacko when I saw Mom come back!

They left again. I ran all along the fence to the very end when they were driving off. I missed them. …for about 5 seconds. Then, it was the best day EVER. I was careful to check on Earl throughout the day. It’s a job, but somebody’s gotta do it!

Travelling to Maine.

Mister came along. His Mom let him and I’m so glad she did! It was a long trip; 1200 miles and we were both very good. Mister is a paraplegic dog, so when we stop for a potty break, Mom has to express his bladder. She says it’s no big deal. She says he’s less work on a potty break than I am! I’m a GSD, so I have to sniff and check out everything 4 or 5 times before I’ll go pee. Whaddya gonna do? It’s in my genes. : ) Also, Mister rides in his booster seat. He loves that thing. It makes him high up so he can see out. …the little time he’s actually awake.

And now, we’re HERE. I’ve MISSED my MAINE!

French St.

This was my first trip to Maine, when I was still little. There was this really b i g bay window with a chaise lounge right in front of it! I loveloveloved that window. I spent all my time looking out, laying in front of, boofing, woofing and napping by my window. There was this city park right outside. …and there were all kinds of kids playing, humans walking their doggies and stuff. I didn’t want to leave that window unless it was to run and play and walk in the park!  It was the best.

(I’m not) Snortin’ in the Wind.

I was thinking about the first time I wore my Doggles. Mom said I did really well. She makes me wear them, sometimes, to protect my eyes. I don’t mind wearing them when the sun is really, really bright. I wear them at the beach when the wind is blowing hard and the sand is blasting in my eyes. But the minute I don’t need them, I’m trying to paw them off. Mom said if we had a different car where I could poke my head out an open window, she would make me wear them then, too. But, we have a Honda Element and Mom says it’s known as one of the best ‘dog cars’. She says that means it’s safer for dogs because we can’t poke our heads out into traffic and snort bugs up our noses. I disagree. Who doesn’t know how much we love to hang out car windows, sniffing and snorting in the wind???!
Anyway, this is me the first time I wore Doggles. ..and that’s our Element. …with no back side window for me to hang out of.

Making Maine Lobsters

Gita and Kris Mount Desert, Maine

I went to Maine, this summer with Mom. This is us on Mount Desert Island, ME. There were lobster boats everywhere! I had never been so close to them before. They were making lots and lots of lobsters out there. I could smell them. I wanted to go see, but Mom said ‘no’. She made me stay close to her.

Loving the Snow. Dreaming of Sand.

I wish I was at Race Point Beach playing ball with Mom. …LEASH FREE! It was the best day ever. …until tomorrow came.
